Made in Germany for over a thousand years, Gose-style Beers have finally become all the rage in the craft beer market. Made with 50 percent malted wheat, 50 percent malted barley, and coriander, Gose Beer pours a cloudy yellow color and often provides a refreshing crispness with top notes of sea salt accented by citrus or lemon zest tang.
Bear in mind that Gose beers can provide their own unique flavor profiles according to each individual brewery’s recipe. With this in mind, we decided to create a Gose Beer and premium cigar pairing to provide a perfect summertime marriage that’s ideal for the warmer months of June and beyond.
Ballast Point Citrus Cove Gose & Valencia Connecticut Robusto
Ballast Point Citrus Cove Gose is a highly rated beer produced by the Ballast Brewing Company in San Diego California. Citrusy top notes pave the way to a nice dry salty and lemon zest finish. The result is an enjoyable take on the classic German Gose, with a bit of American craft style flair.
Valencia Connecticut Robusto Cigars marks the return of a very popular brand from the 1960s and early 1970s. Meticulously handcrafted in Honduras, this top-notch handmade premium cigar is rolled in a popular 5 x 50 format, using fully aged Honduran binder and long filler tobaccos covered by a beautiful golden brown Ecuadorian seed Connecticut wrapper.
A smooth easygoing smoke loaded with mouthwatering flavors of sweet spice, cocoa, leather, caramel, and hints of fruit, the marriage between Valencia Connecticut Robusto Ballast Point Citrus Cove, will make any hour a happy hour.

Victory Brewing Kirsch Gose & Nub 460 Maduro
Victory Brewing Kirsch Gose is produced in Downingtown Pennsylvania and has remained a top choice among the locals, along with Gose-style fans across the globe. A sharp burst of cherries, sea salt, and a touch of spice brings a refreshingly bold Gose experience that calls for an equal strength cigar preferably covered by a rich Maduro wrapper.
Fitting this bill perfectly is the highly popular Nub 460 Maduro Cigar. Another distinguished creation by Oliva, the Nub Maduro 460 presents a medium-bodied flavor profile of chocolate, wood, black pepper, and espresso, with an added dash of black cherry on a long-lasting finish.
This luxurious blend owes its award-winning taste to a zesty Brazilian Maduro wrapper, paired with the finest Nicaraguan binder and long filler tobacco all grown in the fertile Oliva Estates throughout the country.

Duclaw Brewing Gose O’s & Kentucky Fire Cured Midnight Rambler
Duclaw Brewing Gose O’s is brewed in Baltimore Maryland with cantaloupe and black lava sea salt for a light, refreshing mix of sweet, salty, and smoky flavors. This fabulous Gose demands a smooth medium-bodied cigar that compliments, yet never overpowers its delightful taste.
Produced by Drew Estate, Kentucky Fire Cured Midnight Rambler is a premium cigar that’s the ideal partner for Duclaw Brewing Gose O’s. Featuring a zesty San Andres wrapper from Mexico, Midnight Rambler is packed with Nicaraguan long-filler tobacco that is fire-cured (rather than air-cured), which imparts a unique smoky taste that’s unlike any other cigar on the market.
This intriguing blend is medium-bodied and highly complex, offering woodsy notes of roasted hickory cedar, oak, and mesquite, which makes it the perfect campfire companion for Duclaw Brewing Gose O’s.

Westbrook Brewing Gose & Montecristo Anejados Robusto
Gose is a Sour - Gose style beer brewed by Westbrook Brewing Co. in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Flavors of wheat, coriander, and somewhat sour spice have made it a German-style Gose that’s not to be overlooked when the occasion calls for pairing it with a fine complimentary handmade premium cigar.
Answering the call for this unique Grose companion is the Montecristo Anejados Robusto cigar. Spanish for “extra aged” the Anjedaos is just that: A medium to full-bodied cigar with exceptionally smooth, well-defined flavors of leather, sweet spice, black coffee, and wood, that comes courtesy of the finest aged tobaccos.
This includes a savory Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper paired with long-fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Creature Comforts Tritonia Gose & Oracle Salomon
Golden brown in color, gently tart, and brewed with cucumber, lime, sea salt, and coriander, Creature Comforts Tritonia Gose is as refreshing as a dip in the pool on a hot summertime afternoon. This spirited Gose is best enjoyed with a medium-bodied cigar that’s equally uplifting and flavorful.
To provide a marriage made for the warm summer months, we chose to pair Creature Comforts Tritonia with the Oracle Salomon Cigar. This stunning specimen gets its name from a unique figurado shape that adds extra layers of depth and complexity to a blend of fully aged Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco, covered by a gorgeous dark brown Habano wrapper.
The Salomon has a shape where the head is tapered and the foot expands into a sort of bulb with a nipple at the tip, so the cigar starts off slowly with a fairly rigid draw. However, once the flame hits the thicker part of the barrel it quickly releases luscious nuances of coffee, cinnamon, graham cracker, and hints of dried fruit, which further enhances the taste of Creature Comfort like a warm breeze in a tropical paradise.
